The southern Coast Mountains provide a fantastic playground for backcountry skiers, but how can someone with limited amount of time enjoy the goods? Matt Gunn leads a light hearted tour of the region, keeping in mind that many folks are “locale and freedom challenged”. Great powder and amazing destinations are available, even for those of us who don’t bartend in Whistler. Matt will share strategies and destinations to help skiers with limited play time maximize their fun in the mountains.

As anyone who knows him will attest, when Matt Gunn isn’t exploring snow covered summits, there’s a good chance he’s thinking about it. Matt’s love for ski touring and ski mountaineering in the southern Coast Mountains has resulted in ongoing research for a select ski touring and ski mountaineering guidebook. Matt’s previous writing projects include Scrambles in Southwestern British Columbia and Hikes around Invermere and the Columbia Valley. Matt lives in Vancouver, and makes his way to the mountains on weekends.
